More knocked up knitting. I need to make this a tag for my blog.
Before the weeks of rain we had what is most likely our last blast of summer weather. And my son finally fit in one of the sweaters that I made him. He had it on for a whole 2 hours before he woke up from his nap and then promptly spit up all over it. Unless we have a September heat wave (been known to happen) then this will be his one and only time wearing it. Awesome.
Pattern is Pixie Purls’ Country Kiddie. Yarn is some random sock yarn that I lost the label for.
Wet Days

The last few days have been dark wet and fairly warm even though the calendar says January. But while derry weather normally inspires me only to nap, I have been feeling the knitting bug again. Most of this winter so far the needles have been down and what little knitting have have done has been disastrous – thus the quiet blog. I am not sure why I can’t share my mishaps and failures like other braver blogers. But maybe with this new year and the hopeful feelings that always come with it I will be a better blogger. I promise that there are several big things on the horizon this year so check back every once in a while to see what is going on.

Months ago in a fit of office place gloom a co-worker and I started doing list of ten things that made us happy that day. We always did little joys and sometimes included photos. I thought I would share today’s ten things.
- Going to bed having a conversation with my husband and picking it right up once we wake up.
- Being on vacation and not leaving home.
- The way fresh blueberries look on top of white flour.

- First attempt at making scones tasting good but not looking so great.
- Watching Law and Order and knitting.
- The fact that you can throw almost anything fresh in a crock-pot and it comes out tasting good.
- A short afternoon rain shower.
- Finally getting a good photo of the projects I have been working on. (sneak peek!)

- Fresh nectarine ice pops freezing as I type.
- New paint job in the hallway.

Thanks Soule Mama for posting your own ten things yesterday and giving me an excuse to run around taking photos of everything.
So secret projects make for a boring blog.

I have been crafting up a storm the last month or so but because I want a big reveal I have not been posting much. So I thought I would share a little about what I have been do while working.
First I have been listing to lots of audio books. Recently I finished off the whole Chronicles of Narnia and have found myself strangely attracted to lions because of it. Isn’t this guy handsome? I love that someone painted his nose pink. While I paid for the Narnia books, many libraries use Net Library where you an check out books, or you can get free ones from Librivox.
The nice spring inspired some gardening. I have planted a little window box off my deck with herbs. Mixed results so far. I am really looking forward to having peppermint or camomile tea that I grew myself. No photo due to dead camera battery and missing charger.
To offset the nice quiet time I have joined the office softball team that is anything but quiet. This will cut into knitting time but exercise and networking are always good.

Could you say no to those eyes? Really, it is impossible.
I try to spend every third Thursday of the month at my favorite yarn shop Nease’s Needlework, in Decatur Georgia. And every time I bring a big bag of work, more than anyone would ever get done in the few hours, with me. And every time I am lucky if I can get 3 stitches done because Celesta has some sort of spell on me. I spend the whole evening playing monster, baking cakes and cookies, and meeting her “friends†who can fit in cupped hands.

Ok this is crazy but I am going to give it a shot. In case you have not heard NaKniSweMo is national knit a sweater month. I am not sure if it is official anywhere except this blog but is sounds like fun. I have a friend who wants to write a novel so to encourage her to do NaNoWriMo. So here I am trying to knit my husband a Christmas sweater in a month. And oh yeah this is last year’s Christmas sweater. More on that later. You would not want a whole month of just sweater progression bar right?
Moving Sucks

So I am in the middle of a move right now so my crafting has come to a screeching halt. Now I just get to pack my yarn and all my tools into a box. While it is a good sized box I am still a little stunned and very pleased that I was about to get all my yarn in it. Or so I thought. Little balls of yarn are showing up everywhere as I pack. I found more then one in my office. Was I knitting by the computer? And even some on my bedroom. I did manage to keep one ball of red and one ball of white yarn out to work on my current project – Red Guy, friend of green guy. I really need to work on the naming of my toys.

The Pacman pattern seems to have really taken off. I has been on the first page of the crochet thread on Craftster.org for almost a month now. I think it did just get knocked down to the second page today. Anyway I also was mentioned in Crochetme.com’s blog and CRAFT magazines blog. The praise make me feel a little better after two mornings of froging trying to make something that looks like a goby fish that I am working on for A Month of Softies. Is that enough plugs? Ok I am done tooting my own horn for now.

You will be missed. I hope you have a great time in your new home in Texas. Now that I have been sentimental can I jump for joy because I made my first sale?
